My Family 2014

Print  A tradition of ours is family photos taken for our Christmas card, but also to document this season of our lives. It’s neat to think back over each of the images  and recall how much everyone has changed and grown…on the outside and on the inside! And to think of how much easier these photo sessions have gotten, brings a big smile to my face!!  They are growing up so fast and I love the love they share with me, I love being Drew, Kate and Carter’s mom and David’s wife! My family means the world to me and I am thankful I get to live life with these blessings!

This Christmas was a bit different than years past as our family was visited by the flu on Christmas Eve, with Kate getting a pretty bad case of it.  Yep, we had flu shots and usually never get the flu, but it found David, Carter & Kate this year.  We didn’t get to spend the day with family as we usually do, but our little family time was still sweet watching lots of movies and taking a few naps.  And we have still had a sweet time celebrating Jesus’ birth this Christmas season!  I pray you and your family had a blessed Christmas that was filled with memories (and photographs) that will last a lifetime!  Looking forward to what 2015 has in store!IMG_0248 IMG_0244 IMG_0242 IMG_0110 IMG_0115 IMG_0099 IMG_0138IMG_0158 IMG_0146 IMG_0129 IMG_0063 IMG_0053

Suzanne & Mason + Mary Vance & Allen {Engaged}

IMG-3 The weekend after Christmas we get to shoot our first DOUBLE WEDDING!  Yep, these sisters are having their wedding together and it’s going to be one BIG celebration!  I have known Suzanne and Mary Vance most of their lives and am blessed to call them and their family sweet friends of mine!  Mason proposed to Suzanne last December and we began talking about wedding photography!  They decided on a December 2014 wedding and then May rolls around and Allen proposes to Mary Vance!!  I’m pretty sure it was in the back of their minds that they could have a double wedding and I know their mom was certainly up for it, but at first that’s not where they were heading with their wedding plans.  After considering all the options, they did decide they would share their wedding date with each other and bring all of their family and friends together at the same time to share this special time in their lives!  It is going to require some serious planning, but they have my dear friend and wedding expert Stephanie of Paper Ink to help along the way…. I am confident their day will be nothing short of perfect!  Needless to say, we will be starting pictures a bit earlier than normal on their wedding day and we are so excited to spend the day with these amazing couples!

Enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session and be sure to make it to the end to see the most precious pictures of these sweet sisters!! Jamie & Ethan {Engaged}

IMG-2Jamie and Ethan are so perfect together and aren’t they adorable??  Seeing them together, you instantly know they love each other unconditionally and they have a beautiful future ahead of them!  Kate and I spent the afternoon with Jamie and Ethan, loving the fall afternoon we were blessed with and taking beautiful photos to document their engagement!  We ended our session on a dirt road where trees form an arch over the road (ahhhhhmazingly beautiful). Then this little dirt road led us to Jamie’s families cotton field, it was beautiful!! This location was near and dear to Jamie’s heart and perfect for the two of them who cherish their families and their southern roots!

Olivia & Chris {Engaged}

Meet Olivia and Chris…..This couple had me from hello!!!  They are high school sweethearts who are finishing up their college education at Auburn – love it!!  This sweet bride came to me from one of my favorite wedding planner/designers, Lisa Thorne of Thorne and Thistle!  Lisa and I have worked together on several weddings and she is SO sweet to refer me to brides whose wedding she is planning – she is certainly an incredible matchmaker!

Olivia, Chris and I spent a beautiful afternoon together in Auburn shooting their engagement session!  Isn’t it incredible what you can learn about someone after just spending a few hours with them!  They are so genuine and such a fun couple to be around – I am confident their families and their friends count them as a true blessing!  And, now, I do too…. I’m thankful God allowed our paths to cross and that I get to share in this super sweet time in their lives!  I am beyond excited to see the dreamy wedding Lisa brings to reality for Olivia and Christ next May!
